James Emanuel Lewis or simply "Jamie", is an American businessman from the Westside of Detroit, Michigan. As a youth, Jamie was a junior member of the notorious "Young Boys Inc." street organization, working closely with shadowy underworld figures such as "Dino" from Y.B.I.'s "A-Team" and James "Jimmy The Bruiser" Denard, also from Y.B.I., who later founded the "20/20 Boys" before becoming second in command for the "Best Friends" organization on the Eastside of Detroit. After several Federal indictment of Y.B.I. and the organization's splintering into several factions, Jamie went into business for himself.. a decision that ultimately lead to lots of trouble with local and state law enforcement. After several run-ins with the criminal justice system, at thirty-one-years-old, Jamie decided to ease away from crime and focus on starting and running local businesses. To assist with this endeavor, he got a Commercial Driver's License and later enrolled into Wayne County Community College District's Northwest campus, located on Greenfield Rd. just south of Joy Rd. on Detroit's Westside. While enrolled at the community college, Jamie met a then twenty-year-old "G. Twilight" (also known as "Alshafaq El-Bey" and"Twilliam Shakespeare") in an introductory business course. James admired his young classmate's creativity and charismatic nature. The two would eventually become good friends. At the time, G. Twilight wrote R&B music and made instrumentals on "Fruity Loops 3" a digital audio workstation for music production. Jamie's daughter, Breonna, was an aspiring recording artist and understanding G. Twilight's untapped talent, Jamie paid for the first studio recording session with "Mo Master Production" in 2007 for several songs, one of which eventually became known as the "Maserati Rick Song" series, which features Jamie's daughter Breonna. The first version of "The Maserati Rick Song" was later featured in the 2010 Tapeman distributed documentary "Detroit Connection 3: Last Man Standing" inspired by the lives of Demetris Holloway and Richard "Maserati Rick" Carter. However, life as a legitimate businessman was not going the way Jamie initially planned. The product overhead, commercial gas and lights, city regulations and fees, plus the mortgage for the Eastside commercial real property that housed the "East-Town Produce" and the "J.B.L. Candy Corner" sole proprietaries that he owned were overwhelming and Jamie decided to return to the street life and eventually lured his former classmate, who was eleven years his junior and idolized him, to follow suit. With Jamie's urging, G. Twilight, impressed by friend's new flashy lifestyle, with expensive cars, jewelry, and women, dropped out of college and got involved in the same illegal activities as Jamie, in an attempt to emulate his success. But as G. Twilight got deeper into the underworld, he realized that Jamie, who was once a mentor figure, became a rival that was attempting to sabotage his business efforts and block his path to success. This became a source of conflict that lead to altercations between the two friends turned rivals and their factions. Ultimately, G. Twilight realized that he no longer wanted to be like Jamie and decided to change his ways.
